Dear friends and family,
This week was pretty full. It involved a
lot of traveling, a lot of
eating, and a lot of traveling. The
beginning of the week was
business as usual. We had PDAY, we had
our weekly Tuesday meetings,
Wednesday we went to go see friends,
members, and do other missionary
things. Thursday is where it all kinda
changed.
So here in Italy we have to have this
thing called "Permesso di
Soggiorno" which is our permission
of stay from the State of Italy. So
it's like the Italian green card. You
get one for one year and so
after a year you have to do a new one.
Well my companion needed a new
one. So, 5 months ago in Bari he started
the renewal process. During the
process you have to get fingerprints and
so they give you an
appointment to get said fingerprints.
His appointment was the 22 of
April. The only problem is, is that you
have to go back to the place
where you started this process. So, we
had to go back to Bari. The trip
there took forever. Like the whole day.
We ended up taking 4 different
trains and a bus. But we made it.
While in Bari we went to this
neighboring city called Bitonto where my
companion had previously served. We went
so he could see old friends
and stuff, it was a good time. We saw a
lot of people and I met a ton
of new people. Friday we went to go get
the permesso but there were a
lot of problems (not our fault). So,
after 2 hours they sent all the
info to Catanzaro. Now he will have to
continue his green card
process there. Swag. Friday for lunch we
went to this Chinese buffet
and boy did I eat a lot of food. Then
that night for dinner we went to
this family’s house and they made a LOT
of food. I've seriously never
eaten so much food in a day in my entire
life but it was so good. Then
Saturday we came home. That's what we
did this week haha
In other news, transfer calls came this
week. Unfortunately, I'm
leaving Catanzaro and I'm going to this
small city in southern Italy
called "Sciacca." They say
it's really beautiful and I believe them.
I'm super excited to go back to Sicily
and I'll also have the
opportunity to stop in Palermo to see
old friends. So that's exciting.
My new companion is Anz. Whitaker
(spelling?) and yeah. I'm excited to
get fat eating a lot of delicious gelato
and Arancini and Canoli. Ha-ha
Should be a good time.
Anyways, love you and have a great week
:)
