A New/Old Companion

Hey everyone,

So right now we are spending PDAY in the church making a nice lasagna
and listening to music so it's a nice chill day and we like that.

In other news, this week was transfer calls. So I am going to stay
here in Catanzaro but I'm going to be getting a new comp. His name is
Anziano Eldridge! For those who don't know, we were comps for like 4
weeks in Rome. We got along really good and we've kept in contact even
after we left Rome but now we are going to be comps again and I'm so
pumped. We are going to do some WORK here in Catanzaro. I'm sad to see
my old comp, Anziano Covalt, go but he will have a great opportunity
in his new city of Bitonto to do some great work.

Also this week Friday we woke up in the morning only to see a flock of
maybe 100 sheep being herded down the middle of the street...... Only
in Calabria can these things happen. I swear.

Missionary work wise we did some pretty okay stuff. We met with some
people we've seen before and some new people. We are still finding
ourselves with a lot of free time during the week but we've been
putting it to good use. I'm hoping to see some good fruits come this
transfer from the seeds we've been planting and if not, well, I guess
we are going to keep planting more seeds and someone else can reap the
harvest.

Personally I'm doing good out here in Italy. Time goes by really fast
and I can't believe how far I've come. This past transfer I really
found a lot of my strengths and a lot more weaknesses. Surprisingly,
I'm not discouraged by this, mostly because I've been trying to take to
heart my favorite scripture: Ether 12:27

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

I've also been doing a lot of study through 1st and 2nd
Corinthians. This is where Paul pretty much writes the first letter telling
them how much the people of Corinth suck and calling them to
repentance. Then in the next epistle Paul sends some atonement
ointment for all the burns he caused to the people of Corinth.
Basically I kinda feel like a kid from Corinth. I've gotten a lot of
correction this past transfer and I've had to repent and change some
stuff but the soothing ointment of the atonement is helping me develop
my weaknesses into strengths. It's really an amazing thing that
happens when we start and continue to learn how to use the atonement
of Christ more in our lives. It's definitely a gift that one cannot
show enough gratitude for.

Anyways, I love all of you and hope you have a great week! Keep it real
