Hey friends!
So we had a very busy week filled with a
lot of traveling. We were
basically only in Sciacca for two days.
But none the less it was a
very good and uplifting week.
We went to Palermo twice this week, once
for Zone Conference (for
missionaries) and the other for Stake
Conference (for all members) and
they were both pretty cool. Stake
conference entails all the members
of Sicily so everyone came down to
Palermo on Sunday for the
conference. Obviously the churches here
aren't built to hold that many
people so we had the conference at this
hotel in Palermo. We had a
member from the 70 (Church leader over
European area) come and meet
with us too. He didn't speak Italian
though so me and another
missionary had the (intimidating)
opportunity to translate for him at
both the conference Sunday and another
one that took place Saturday
evening. It went alright.
We also went to Palermo for Zone
conference this week which was on
Thursday. Honestly I went into it with a
not so good attitude but I
was humbled and learned a few new
things. One thing I realized is that
it doesn't matter if we are hearing the
same general speech for the
5th time. You can still learn something
you didn't know before. I had
forgotten that and was reminded of it
this past week.
Also because of the fact that we were in
Palermo so much this week I
got to see a bunch of old friends from
my time wayyyyy back when I was
in Bagheria. It was cool because I was
scared they weren't going to
remember me but they did so we like
that. They also fed me some good
food which was still just as good as I
remember so we won't complain
there :)
Other than that things are going good
here in Sciacca. It's getting
hot out which really isn't news to state
the obvious but summer
weather is always beautiful. There are a
lot more tourists here than I
thought there would be which is
surprising because you can see
everything you need to in Sciacca in
less than a day haha. I'm happy
though. Like I said we were able to stay
pretty busy this past week
here in Sciacca and I hope it stays the
same for this upcoming week.
Finally transfer calls came this past
week and me and my companion
will be staying here in Sciacca for
another 6 weeks. I'm pretty pumped
because me and Anz. Whitaker get along really
good so I won't complain
about my time with him.
