Lemme just start out by saying Catanzaro
is in the middle of nowhere.
I think I've said this before but it
needs to be repeated. This week
we had our missionary Zone Conference in
Taranto. Usually, even if your
city is far away, it takes maybe 2 hours
to get to where you need to
go. For us it takes about 6. So we left
Monday for the Tuesday
conference. The trip was half train half
bus. I did not like the bus
part, that's for sure.
Once in Taranto we met up with some
other missionaries, got some lunch
and did a little shopping. My favorite
store, Zara, was having a really
swag suit sale and I got a full suit for
like 48 dollars. Idk exactly
cuz like Euro to dollar conversion, but
it was cheap. So we like that a
lot. After the lil shopping spree we
went to go play some Zone Soccer.
It was a good time with all the running
around, screaming, and
Italians looking at us like gorillas at
the zoo, it was a good time.
My soccer skills are not where I'd like
them to but they are a lot
better than a year ago so that's good
news. That evening we had our
interviews with Prez. He is a good guy
and definitely knows what you
need to hear. It was a well needed
interview.
Tuesday was Zone Conference. I learned a
lot of knew things and found
some things I can work on so that's
always good. Then we spent the
rest of the day doing some missionary
work. Then on Wednesday we
were finally able to take the nice long
trip back to Catanzaro.
We filled the rest of the week by
visiting some members and friends.
Playing games, taking pictures, walking
down the street with a guitar
singing songs trying to get people to
come to our FREE English course.
It was a good time. Honestly, nothing
super interesting or crazy
happened this week. It was honestly
pretty normal. I'm not comparing
though, don't get me wrong ha-ha
Also this week I've been studying in the
Bible a little bit and I read
Hebrews 11. If ya haven't read it, read
it. It talks all about faith
and pretty much what I've been learning
over and over again is that
faith isn't a one-time thing. You don't
confess faith once and for
that become saved. It's constant and it
requires action. Moses had a
lotta faith. We know that. So what did
he do? He led the children out
of Israel through the Red Sea. That's pretty
swag. David had a lotta
faith and he went out and slew Goliath.
Faith is not, never has been,
never will be a passive action. It's
full of constant growth, effort,
and enduring. But in the end it's
totally worth it.
Love you all and have a great week :)
