so cool and really smart. He speaks like perfect English cuz he was
an exchange student in America. He studies art now and loves to draw
and all this cool stuff. We have been teaching him and we talked about
the Holy Ghost and it was a very personal lesson for him. He said it
was what he needed so that was cool. Also we went to see Abraham and
his hommie Bobby. We talked about the Plan of Salvation and it really
hit home with the them because of how many people they have lost in
their lives so it was really cool.
Wednesday. So today we had DDM instead of Tuesday like normal. So I
planned a lesson about Christ like attributes and so I had everyone in
the district talk about an attribute. The Spirit during the lesson was
amazing. Then I used a talk by President Uchtdorf from 2005 where he
talks about Christ like attributes and how they are the basics.
Apparently it was a really good "addestramento" Italian for "training"
because everyone said it was good. The Spirit was real strong though.
Later that day we did Italian course which is where we teach the
senior couples here Italian. It's fun. I like teaching. Anyways after
that we went to this park to do some finding. So when we like go to a
park we usually split up. Not far away, but we all go talk to different
people because teaching in 3 sucks. So I went out, sat by these two
ragazzi (Italian for guys) and talked to them for like a while. We just
talked and during the conversation I was able to throw some stuff in
like about the gospel and stuff. It's amazing how if you look hard in
almost every conversation you can find normal opportunities to bear
testimony of simple truths of the gospel.
Thursday. So we went to go see Abraham this morning. Bobby wasn't
there so it was just our bro Abraham. We talked about the gospel of
Jesus Christ which was a repass but needed. The lesson was good but at
the end we were talking and he said that he can see the change in his
life after meeting with us. He said that this message has helped him
stop smoking and he is happier. He says that God gives him the
strength to do anything and his faith is wonderful. This dude is a
hommie. Anyways later that night we went out and did some publicity
for our English course. We put up a bunch of posters all over the
place. It sounds lame but it actually works. People call me every day
asking about English course from these posters and if they come and
learn English from us it's a great way to share the gospel in a less
strange setting like stopping them on the street. So yeah.
Friday. So we had planning in the morning and then we took the long
trip outside of Rome to go see our Bro. Robinson. This dude is swag. He
has been pretty much an eternal investigator. He is Colombian and is
a caretaker for this old dude. He has a job which a lot of people here
don't have but it stops him from coming to church. So we are waiting
for his son to come from Colombia so that he can come to church.
Anyways so we went and saw him and it takes forever to get to his
house but we made it. He's doing good. Then we came home and had some
stuff to take care of before English course. Oh and Friday I bought
two train tickets to Napoli and back with my card. Don't worry though
because the church will reimburse me. We just had to get them because I
have to go back with Anziano just so he can get his permesso. Which is
like a green card I guess because our Visas aren't good enough.
Anyways so I got nice train seats for cheaper and better than what the
church would have gotten us. I'm so smart. Anyways then we had English
course and came home.
Saturday. This morning we went to go see Abraham again because he is a
hommie. He is doing really good and we are hoping everything goes well
so we can have his baptism on the 12th. :) God will make a way. So the
lesson went good. We came home, had lunch and then we went to like this
hipster part of Rome. It was kinda like what Americans expect Rome to
look like when they come here. I liked it. It was right in the
Tiberius River. (I think that's the name in English) and there is just
a ton of culture. Anyways we went to go see a self-referral from
Mormon.org and it was crazy because he was legit. Usually the people
on there aren't legit ha-ha but we went down. Saw him. He has met with
the missionaries in the past like 15 years ago but wanted to see us
again. Swag. So we had a lesson with him but then took a very scenic
walk down the river at night back to the metro. Love Rome.
Sunday we had church and I translated all 3 hours. That's about it.
Monday. Played zone soccer. Got to play with my new cleats. I
definitely played better and looked better so that was cool.
